Reflecting on the Stamp Duty Holiday and beyond.

I can’t recall a time in history where the housing market has gone from a period of near complete closure to record volumes within one year. Client behaviours such as spending more time at home, not needed to commute to work as often and a fresh appreciation for our freedom has led to many revaluating their living situation and making changes. Throw in one of the biggest tax savings in recent memory and the property market exploded, first on the lead up to March 30^th and then June 30^th.

Clients have experienced many issues with the added strain to the UK house buying process from booking viewings under new Covid restrictions, contacting mortgage lenders and even finding a free slot for removals. The legal sector experienced its own issues with lots of firms finding themselves in a much needed position to adopt new ways of working by incorporating technology.

I am so tremendously proud by the way TL have provided the technology and support needed for all colleagues to work from home seamlessly, hired new staff to service the increased volume, reduced clients transaction times, launched our App for a better client experience and delivered an excellent service resulting in increased satisfaction scores across the business.

The past 12 months have been historical for the UK property market and whilst there have so many challenges across every component of the process, I believe the changes made will be here to stay meaning future markets will be better prepared, fit for purpose and provide everyone with an improved experience.
