Our teams have many decades of collective experience in delivering a high-quality conveyancing service across all aspects of residential property work. Each of our teams is headed up by an experienced lawyer (see below profiles) who has day to day supervisory responsibility for all active matters within their team. Regardless of which team works on your matter, all staff are ultimately supervised by Simon David, CEO of Thomas Legal.

Simon is a very experienced Solicitor and is the CEO of our firm. Specialising in residential property he has ultimate responsibility for all our transactional work and coordinates all aspects of the firm’s business.

Simon qualified as a Solicitor in 2005 and was previously a Partner at a large regional firm based in the South West where he headed up their residential property department before joining Thomas Legal in 2010 as a Director and owner. In 2019, together with his fellow Director Claire Barker, he negotiated a very substantial investment from private equity investors BGF into the firm as well as Equilaw (our sister company).

Simon’s remit is to ensure that Thomas Legal remain the first and best choice for consumers by exploring cutting edge IT technology and ensuring we deliver the highest standards of service. He is a member of the Conveyancing Association and spends some of his free time mentoring lawyers and non-lawyers outside the firm.

Prior to joining Thomas Legal, Will spent 8 years working for a global top 20 law firm with operational and budgetary responsibility for a number of multi-million pound national practice groups. Will joined Thomas Legal in 2018 and in the role of Managing Director he is responsible for all aspects of the efficient and effective delivery of our residential conveyancing services.

Nick joined Thomas Legal in 2010 as a Legal Assistant having completed a Law Degree in Southampton and the LPC at Cardiff University.

Nick undertook his training contract with Thomas Legal, specialising in residential conveyancing, and he qualified as a Solicitor in 2013. With 10 years’ experience in property law, and having completed thousands of property transactions, Nick now leads the London residential property team at Thomas Legal.

Nick has a broad depth of specialist experience in leasehold transactions and lease extension work and was appointed as a Director of the firm in 2018.

Stacey is a Director here at Thomas Legal and leads one of our very successful Cotswold focused residential property teams. She has over 25 years’ experience in property work specialising in all aspects of conveyancing.

Stacey commenced her property law journey back in 1997 having studied her ILEX qualification at Worcester Law School. She successfully qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2011 and was appointed Director of Thomas Legal in 2024. Prior to joining Thomas Legal in 2010, she worked in the property department at a large regional firm based in the South West.

Stacey has a particular passion and drive for property and under her guidance and leadership, she has enabled many lawyers to progress and have their own very successful legal careers.

Stacey regularly undertakes professional development courses in all aspects of property law

Rebecca is a Solicitor and Director at Thomas Legal, leading our ‘High Net Worth, Estates division.

Rebecca obtained her Law Degree from the University of Liverpool. Thereafter, Rebecca completed the Legal Practice Course with Distinction at the University of Law in Manchester combining her studies with a Paralegal position at a top 50 law firm.

Rebecca returned to the Cotswolds and joined the firm in late 2013 as a Paralegal, swiftly obtaining a Training Contract with the firm. Following secondments in litigation and corporate law, Rebecca qualified as a Solicitor in March 2018. Rebecca was appointed as a Director of the firm in 2024.

As Director, Candice plays a central role in shaping Thomas Legal’s strategic direction. She believes strongly in team cohesion and is passionate about developing the next generation of lawyers, drawing on her own journey to mentor and inspire others.

Kelly is an Associate who leads one of our London residential property teams.

She obtained her law degree from Birmingham City University, completing an internship in Arizona in her final year working on death penalty appeals cases. After volunteering for the free advice clinic at the Forest of Dean Citizens Advice Bureau for 6 months, Kelly joined Thomas Legal in April 2014 while completing her LPC at BPP University part-time. Kelly obtained a training contract within the firm in 2017 and qualified as a solicitor in March 2019.

With over 11 years’ experience in property law, Kelly deals with a varied caseload of mostly leasehold and new build transactions including transfers of part, statutory and mutually agreed lease extensions, and deeds of variation. Her experience also includes acting on behalf of Landlords in granting licences to assign, alter or sublet, as well as acting for Companies purchasing investment property. Kelly regularly undertakes professional development in residential property to keep up to date, particularly with the implementation of the Building Safety Act 2022.

Jessica joined Thomas Legal in 2014, after graduating from Oxford Brookes University with a 2:1 degree in Law. She undertook her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law part time whilst working as a paralegal at the firm to gain further experience, and was awarded a Distinction.

After successfully completing her training contract at Thomas Legal, Jessica qualified as a Solicitor in March 2020. Jessica handles transactions across all areas of residential property matters, including leasehold and freehold, new build, unregistered, shared ownership and Help to Buy transactions, as well as re-mortgages, lease extensions and deeds of variation. Jessica’s experience covers both London and the Cotswolds and she regularly undertakes professional development courses to ensure her knowledge and understanding of the sector is up to date.

Natalie qualified as a Solicitor in 2015 after gaining a First Class Honours degree in Law & Criminology and a Distinction on the Legal Practice Course. She completed her training contract at a local law firm and prior to qualification assisted barristers in the preparation of Crown Court cases.

Natalie deals with most aspects of residential property law and has experience of dealing with both regional and London property transactions. Natalie has been working in this area since she qualified and deals with a variety of residential property matters including leasehold, shared ownership and new build transactions.

Natalie regularly undertakes professional development courses in residential property and other related areas of law.

Laura joined Thomas Legal in 2015 after achieving her Law Degree from the University of Gloucestershire earlier that year. She began her training contract with Thomas Legal in September 2019, qualified as a Solicitor in March 2021 and was then promoted to Associate and Head of Legal Training in October 2023.

Laura now has over 8 years of experience covering properties located in both London and the Cotswolds and she handles a range of residential property matters, including leasehold and freehold purchases as well as new build transactions. She also has experience in handling lease extensions, drafting new leases and deeds of variation. Laura has also carried out extensive research on the implications of the Buildings Safety Act 2022 which makes her very knowledgeable when working on high-rise London Leasehold transactions. She also undertakes regular professional development courses to ensure that her knowledge and understanding of residential property and other related areas of law is kept up to date and has now taken this to the next level becoming Thomas Legal’s Head of Legal Training. She regularly provides training courses to other staff members to ensure that their legal knowledge is exceptional.

Abigail joined Thomas Legal in 2015 after achieving a First Class Honours Degree in Law at Swansea University and a Very Competent grade in the Bar Professional Training Course at Cardiff University. After two years of working as an Administration Assistant and Paralegal at the firm and gaining experience in residential property matters, Abigail decided to convert her BPTC to the Legal Practice Course. She undertook this part time at the University of Law in Bristol whilst continuing to work as a Paralegal and was awarded a Distinction in 2019. After successfully completing her Training Contract at Thomas Legal, Abigail qualified as a Solicitor in March 2021 and was promoted to Associate in October 2023.

Abigail has over 7 years of experience covering both London and the South West and handles transactions across all areas of residential property, including leasehold and freehold, new build and unregistered properties.

Abigail strives to provide excellent client service in language that is easy to understand, with the aim of helping to make our clients’ conveyancing process as smooth as possible.
