Willow Trust Day

This morning Sharon Foote and Stacey Ballinger, members of the TLG Charity and Social committee, were invited to spend the morning on board the Willow Trust boats as they sailed the Sharpness canal. The Willow Trust is our charity of choice this year and it was great to have a real hands on look at what they do.

Funded only via local donations and support the Trust provides days out on the water for around 7,000 disabled and seriously ill adults and children each year, giving them a day of freedom completely free of charge. Today’s group were thrilled to be out and about and it was great to see how much they all enjoyed themselves. Intrepid skipper John also gave us a go at steering the boat – a foolhardy decision methinks!
